L3 Java Application Support Engineer

Our partner is a well reputed software development center, part of one of the world’s largest banking groups. The hub is well established in the market – it operates across various programs, delivering technology products which support the banking verticals.

 

From BA to QA and Operations, all roles in the SDLC, as well as various tech stacks are well represented in the company, offering multiple growth opportunities, both laterally and vertically.

 

As an L3 - Java Application Support Engineer, your role will be to provide advanced production support for some of the business critical applications of the company (Control Room). You'll be part of the development team and follow best practice and governance procedures to ensure code and design integrity of the fixes (patches, hot fixes).

As an L3 Java Application Support Engineer, your role will be to:

​

  • Provide Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (databases, middleware and user interfaces)

​

  • Perform problem and root cause analysis for application production incidents and deliver necessary resolution pack

​

  • Conduct incident and problem management activities

​

  • Support and contribute to all relevant technical documentation 

​

  • Perform detailed technology analysis to highlight weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement ​

​

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

​

  • Previous production support experience,​ with can-do mindset and hands-on mentality

​

  • Good Java and Oracle experience (JDK 1.8, Oracle 12c)

​

  • SQL/PLSQL development skills

​

  • Good knowledge of Shell scripting / Python

​

  • Previous working experience with Spring, Hibernate, Javascript, Maven, JSP, JQuery, SOAP and REST WS, Tomcat, Openshift​

​

  • Basic knowledge of security principles

​

  • Exposure to operating in a multinational environment, working across cultures and practices

​

  • Excellent communication skills and English fluency

​
