Team Manager


Our client is a worldwide leading services and payments organization, supporting employee benefits administration, fleet&mobility solutions and Corporate payment services across 40+ countries. The Group brings together a unique network of 47 million employee users, 830.000 corporate clients and 1.7 million partner merchants.



Three years ago, the company has set up a Technology Hub in Bucharest, consolidating strategy, technology and projects across three key verticals: software development, security, cloud & infrastructure.



Context


The Global Technology department brings together a number of global projects (Reusable Components & APIs) intended to improve simplicity of usage, ease of integration performance and resilience across multiple applications developed by group or local subsidiaries.

 

As a Team Manager, you will coordinate a group of 40 engineers across Global Technology department, overseeing all people processes from finding best people for the team, onboarding and managign their performance.


This role best fits those candidates who feel at ease navigating into large corporate environments, finding their way and dealing with complexity and ambiguity that are inherent around large scale transformation programs.



Your main responsibilities will revolve around the following:


  • Structure the API & Reusable components team in a way that best delivers results and scales for performance;


  • Partner with the HR team to define the recruitment strategy, career plans, training & development solutions to meet the inidividual needs for growth;


  • Define, follow up and assess the individual performance of all team members; 


  • Act as a delivery facilitator, ensuring good communication between the development teams and the technical teams supporting them (architecture, security, etc);


  • Define and implement standards, best practices and metrics;


  • Offer effective line management, coaching and support across the team;


  • Engage with stakeholders to define the right organization and staffing;


  • Be part of the escalation path in case of support issues  related to development arise.



This role is for you if you have:


  • Proven experience of leading and inspiring teams;

 

  • Strong experience in team management, headcount planning, budgeting, forecasting, mentoring;


  • Ability to zoom-in / zoom-out, while dealing with several subjects in the same time;


  • Articulated communicator and presenter, able to efficiently convey messages to stakeholders at all levels in the company. 


  • Fluent in English.
