QA Lead

Our partner is a well reputed software development center, part of one of the world’s largest banking groups.


The hub is continuing its growth, leading the bank's digital transformation and promoting its supremacy in front of its customers.


The QA Lead will manage a team of QA engineers and testers for the new and existing application portfolio of the Treasury Department. 


The division is one of the largest in the organisation, interacting with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts in London, Frankfurt or Pune.



Your key responsibilities will be to:


  • Create and review the test strategy for all applications in the portfolio;


  • Provide leadership and technical leadership to your team members;


  • Help the team in the selection of the right set of tools and defining the testing frameworks;


  • Liaise with other programme streams (Architecture, Development, Business, Operations, Infrastructure Services) and define potential areas of automation, identifying best tools, creation of Automation suite/scripts;


  • Design and implement functional tests that will ensure there is coverage of both expected and unexpected behaviour;


  • Define the test approach for test data generation;


  • Create & review the test plan/multi release test plan for each release;


  • Ensure all activities included in the testing checklist are done on time and with the right quality;


  • Ensure evidences are created for all test activities;


  • Improve existing processes;


  • Perform impact assessment and provide testing estimates for major releases;


  • Ensure proper alignment with all upstream and downstream teams for End to End testing;


  • Collaborate with business users to ensure good UAT executions;


  • Supports efforts to achieve high performance for product testing team through effective career management and training, provides equal opportunities, initiates career advancement plans, professional management processes to ensure the continuous development of employees' skills and achieve the best results.



To thrive in this role, you’ll have:


  • Solid technical experience in QA;


  • Experience in managing/designing the test approach for big complex projects;


  • Experience working with IT solutions in the banking industry or financial business areas would be a plus;


  • Experience on handling Test Automation in Agile / DevOps way of working using BDD /ATDD with tools like Cucumber/SpecFlow/Jbehave /PyTestBDD;


  • Good Understanding on Service layer architecture testing  techniques & tools : RESTful API / SOAP UI / ITKO Lisa or any other relevant tool;


  • Experience working in Agile teams.



Nice to have:


  • Data Warehouse testing experience;


  • QA Automation experience, preferably with Java, FitNesse or HP UFT;


  • API and Web service testing;


  • Experience in non-functional testing: Performance, Stress, Load testing, Security, Reliability;


  • ISTQB Certification in Software Testing (Foundation Level) desirable;


  • Define business, process, usability and data requirements in partnership with the users & key stakeholders.
