Our client is a seed start-up (funded by top venture capitalists) that is seeking to power up the renewable energy industry through Machine learning and Data Science.

Funded in Romania by leading industry experts, the company is building an AI enabled B2B platform that allows its utility partners to make data informed decisions about needs, costs, allocation of resources, distribution, etc. It starts with the electricity sector, but other sectors such as gas, water and district heating will shortly follow.

Some of the forecasts include:

• Demand forecast

• Network losses

• Anomaly detection

• Theft detection

• etc 

As a backend engineer, you'll join a senior team focused on building the platform that will automate the ML algorithms, once these are developed by a talented data science team and successfully tested across various clients.

You'll be working on finalizing the MVP and launching it in production, along with all the learnings and opportunities that such an endeavor will generate. A more elaborate product roadmap will follow to include more functionalities, ML models and solutions for new industries. 

The technology stack you'll be using contains: Python (Flask), AWS (Lambda functions), Serverless, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, REST APIs, etc .

In your role, you'll:

• Work on various new features and functionalities of the product, contributing design or architectural ideas and solving various technical problems. New product, MVP to be launched in the next few months.

• Work alongside other Developers (BE&FE), Devops and QA Automation in Romania, following an Agile Kanban methodology.

• You'll enjoy a great deal of autonomy, which comes with an equal deal of responsibility for the quality and speed of your delivery. 

• You'll join a greenfield project that is likely to disrupt the energy market and elevate it to a new level of innovation. You'll be part of the success of an innovative Romanian start-up that already gets international traction and recognition from top investors. 

To thrive in this role, you'll need to have:

• Solid experience in application development using Python and complex data scenarios;

• Experience using Test Driven Development in your work;

• Ideally, you have worked in a DevOps format, with automated CI/CD pipelines and  deployments in AWS;

• High level of autonomy and self discipline, focus on clean code.
