Product Owner


We have an opportunity for a Product Owner role who will grow a software product at the intersection of sports, betting, digital advertising. 


It takes passion for sports or deep insights (built in a professional environment) into how companies can monetize sports content via personalization and real time contextual ad targeting.


The employer (our client) is a Danish company, world leader in sports betting, developing digital platforms for sports news, betting tips, bookmaker information, e-sports and iGaming communities.

The product you'll help grow is a Monetization platform currently at MVP stage.  This product is focused on contextual targeting of data heavy, rich-media ads with sports and sports betting content. 


More complex functionalities need to added to the product (eg. expand the ML model to cover more sports, integrations with more data feeds, etc) - you'll have the freedom to explore solutions and suggest those that work best.


Your passion for sports media publishing or sports betting coupled with a good understanding of digital advertising principles and technicalities will help you succeed in the role from Day 1.




Your main responsibilities will revolve around the following:


  • Define and prioritize the product backlog for one or more product lines: contextually targeted, rich-media display advertising for sports betting and iGaming;


  • Attend the most relevant product management meetings, planning the backlog/vision refinement sessions with the purpose of pointing the scrum team into the right direction of the product development;


  • Conduct research and brainstorming for ideas;


  • Output requirements documentation with: requirements, POC / MVP, FS/NFS acceptance criteria, wireframes, diagrams, according the need;


  • Propose solutions to existing challenges or find opportunities that are in line with Monetisation league vision. Research integration with other tools or systems and propose functional/non-functional requirements;


  • Work with the Technical project manager / Scrum Master to help team members prioritize between backlog items;


  • Take part in the league’s product governance to communicate & present the product  development, roadmap, issues & risks to management;


  • Coordinate and present sprint goals and release goals;


  • Help communicate business value & user needs to team members;


  • Coordinate product dependencies with other product owners;


  • Ongoing user story elaboration. While any team member can write user stories, and acceptance criteria, you have the primary responsibility to keep the process flowing, elaborating as well on user stories and being responsible for writing/defining acceptance criteria;


  • Measure the product's performance in relation with business development.



To thrive in this role, you'll need to have:


  • Previous experience as Product Owner, Solutions Architect or Business Analyst.


  • Ideally already experienced or working with products within advertising, affiliate marketing or sports betting.


  • Big Plus: a mix of advertising (native, display) and sports media publishing or sports betting;


  • Sports enthusiast ideally with basic knowledge of sports betting;


  • Analytical, problem-solving, quantitative, and critical thinking abilities to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive product decisions;


  • Strong people skills to lead collaboration across functions and organizations.
