Product Manager
Our client is a worldwide leading services and payments organization, supporting employee benefits administration, fleet&mobility solutions and Corporate payment services across 40+ countries. The Group brings together a unique network of 47 million employee users, 830.000 corporate clients and 1.7 million partner merchants.
Three years ago, the company has set up a Technology Hub in Bucharest, consolidating strategy, technology and projects across three key verticals: software development, security, cloud & infrastructure.
Context
As part of the company's pursuit of portfolio diversification, our client has acquired a Germany headquartered company that is active in the fuel & mobility cards industry.
As part of the post-acquisition activities, the two companies have decided to refresh the portfolio of software applications that support the fuel card business. A software development team is now in place, covering the entire application development lifecycle from requirements to production.
This is a B2B2E type of solution, with mobility cards being issued for companies and used by their employees to cover various needs: fuel, tolls, services (parking, washing, repairs), EV charging, etc.
As a Product Manager, you'll be part of the Global Product Team, working with business leaders and development teams to develop the middle-office platform, which is the backend backbone for the entire eco-system. It contains microservices that manage the key business processes: user management, subscription management, card & media management, etc.
An MVP will be launched in spring 2023 and the full product capabilities to be deployed in the next 2 years.
Your main responsibilities will revolve around the following:
Armed with a strong understanding of backend flows, the role is a key contributor to the product vision for fuel cards and toll products;
Develop a strong understanding of end users' needs;
Define product objectives (OKRs) for the middle office platform;
Through close collaboration with the business, identify key capabilities needed to scale and serve more customer segments, geographies and products; identify key product improvement opportunities;
Define the product roadmap in line with business objectives, customer segment priorities, product OKRs and overall product strategy;
Work with Product Owners, other Product Managers, Architects and Development Teams (3-4 squads) to build the platform: shape and groom initiatives and epics, structure the data model, prioritize the backlog, etc.
Be(come) an expert of the key middle office processes (user management, service management, transactions and invoicing) - identify stakeholders, policies and rules that guide business behaviors.
Travel to Germany from time to time to meet the key business stakehodlers.
This role is for you if you have:
Strong technical acumen, with solid understanding of backend architectures and flows - acted as a BA, PO or Product Manager focused on backend platforms, ideally in ERP environment;
Ability to influence and make organisational level decisions on product development;
Leadership, with a strong ability to guide other product colleagues (ex. Product Owners) and develop product talents;
Articulated communicator and presenter, able to efficiently convey messages to stakeholders at all levels in the company. Able to translate technical concepts into business terms to get the understanding/buy-in from non-technical stakeholders.
Fluent in English.
