

Payroll Specialist (GE/FR)
Our partner is a well-established technology & operations center in Bucharest, part of one of the world's leading financial groups.
This position is part of the Global HR Operations Hub, responsible for providing HR services to the organization’s global subsidiaries.
Payroll is one of the most complex processes in the portfolio, with a strong focus on compliance and vendor management.
We are now looking to strengthen the Luxembourg payroll team, ensuring smooth operations, accurate delivery, and continuous alignment with local legislation and cross-border requirements.
As a Payroll Analyst for the Luxembourg market, you will act as a key point of consolidation and validation of payroll input, working closely with HRBPs, advisors, the payroll vendor, and finance.
This role best fits candidates who are detail-oriented, comfortable working in complex international environments, and able to navigate legislative requirements and employee communications.
Experience in SSC/BPO environments, particularly with payroll for cross-border populations, is considered a strong advantage.
Your key responsibilities will revolve around:
Collect, consolidate, and validate payroll inputs from HRBPs and advisors (new hires, terminations, contractual changes, absences, medical leaves, benefits, pension schemes, union/CCM data);
Perform plausibility checks to ensure correctness of documents, compliance with taxation rules, deductions, and legal requirements;
Collaborate with BDO (payroll vendor) – transmit validated inputs, review results, confirm final payroll documents, and prepare for funding together with the Finance team;
Ensure compliance with Luxembourg legislation and share updates with the vendor on any legislative changes;
Manage payroll reporting and sign-off of statutory and final reports;
Facilitate communication with employees, especially commuters (80% of the population are cross-border workers from Germany and France);
Support on international assignment cases impacting payroll;
Act as back-up for other country payroll (Netherlands, Spain) as needed;
Collaborate with local Workers Council and respond to queries from authorities.
To thrive in this role, you’ll have:
3+ years of experience in payroll, ideally in a multinational or SSC/BPO environment;
Strong attention to detail and ability to validate large amounts of data;
Good communication and stakeholder management skills;
Fluency in English and a second language - German or French.
