Tech Lead

Our partner is a well reputed software development center based in Bucharest, part of one of the world’s largest financial  groups.


The hub is continuing its growth, by adding new teams and portfolios of software products, as well as re-engineering and strengthening the technical posture of its major platforms.


As a Technical Lead, you'll coordinate one of the teams and the technical decisions around migrating the platforms towards a microservices architecture, while developing new implementations (mainly regulatory requirements). 


The tech stack (current & future): Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kubernetes, Maven, data streaming & processing technologies (Kafka / Flink), microservices, cloud solutions, etc.




Your key responsibilities will be to:


  • Liaise with the Product Owner, Architects, Product Managers, developers and testers for all technical matters needed to progress the development;


  • Coach teams in modern engineering practices, striving to ensure that your team can build, test and release software with the shortest lead times and a minimum of waste;


  • Collaborate with the division's architects and engineering community to help define an architectural roadmap and individual solution designs that fit within that roadmap;


  • Support and enforce automated unit/integration testing as a standard development practice;


  • Ensure that the software built is reliable and easy to support in production;


  • Promote a DevOps/SRE culture and modern toolchains to support continuous delivery;


  • Support in defining and implementing clear standards and KPI’s for end to end software delivery;


  • Create a culture of ownership, high quality, transparent and open communication; 


  • Guide your team by demonstrating integrity, empathy, and a genuine concern for the growth and performance of each member.




To thrive in this role, you'll have:



  • Solid knowledge of the Java ecosystem (Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc);


  • Strong technical vision and hands on experience in software development and test automation, including BDD and TDD;


  • Working knowledge of microservices based architectures;


  • Ability to develop reusable and performant clean code aligned with good architectural and design principles;


  • Formal or informal experience as a people manager, coordinating software development teams;


  • Leadership acumen - communication, accountability, coaching, empathy, conflict resolution, eyc.


  • Fluent in English.
