Our client is Hootsuite, Canadian company that has built the world's leading social media management platform, used by millions of marketing professionals across the board.

The Hootsuite platform allows seamless integration of a company's social media accounts - from campaign planning across multiple networks, to scheduling, content curation and measuring ROI. 

As a Tech Lead, you'll lead one of the two teams developing the Analytics module of the Hootsuite platform. This means a whole range of metrics that analyze a company's activity and performance on social media networks.

Tech stack:

•  Front-end: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Redux, D3 (Data visualization), LESS

• Back-end: Golang, Python, microservices (150+), TBytes of data, 1,2 million lines of code, MongoDB, gRPC, Brigade, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

Your role:

• Mix of senior technical / engineering and people management for a team of 5-7 developers (build, scale, test, monitor and optimize);

• Facilitate ongoing development conversations with your team, to support their learning and career growth;

• Maintain high standards of security, reliability, scalability, performance and quality in all delivered projects;

• Help shape the technical roadmap;

• Design, write, test and deploy high quality scalable code;

• You'll focus on performance optimization (such as code splitting).

• Avoid Technical Debt (20% of the time is spent in technical projects, dedicated Developer productivity team);

• CI/CD (Slack bot at entry point, everything else is automated - lots of daily prod merges and deployments) - Brigade on Kubernetes;

• Design Patterns (Observer, Adapter, Singleton, etc);

• Clean Code (code reviews, linters & formatters)

• Developers fully own their code, working on a kanban development methodology.

Is this for you? Here's how you'll know it:

• You have a long standing software development experience, with a demonstrated increase in responsibility (ideally on highly scaling web services or SaaS systems);

• Hands on experience mentoring or coaching others - either in a formal or informal role, you enjoy helping others succeed and grow;

• You're profficient in at least one programming language: GO, TypeScript or Python and have a desire to learn other languages. Alternatively, you can also come with strong knowledge of any other backend language (Java, Scala, C#, PHP) and willing to shift towards Golang and Python;

• You have strong communication skills, working with people at al levels and clearly articulating your thoughts;

• You are determined to succeed, you're curious to learn and explore, you keep your promises with striong integrity, you lead with empathy;

  

• Fluent in English.
