Our partner is a well reputed software development center, part of one of the world’s largest banking groups. The hub is well established in the market – it operates across various programs, delivering technology products which support the banking verticals.

From BA to QA and Operations, all roles in the SDLC, as well as various tech stacks are well represented in the company, offering multiple growth opportunities, both laterally and vertically.

As a Tech Lead, you'll coordinate the technical decisions impacting the success of a vendor developed business critical application (covering Transaction Monitoring). 

While the external vendor will take care of the development, your role will be to secure seamless integration, mainly at data level (components for entry data, integrate with the company's environment, etc). 

The app ingests high volumes of diverse data that are transformed via ETL-like processes.

You'll get a solid training ahead of time from the vendor of the solution (Java based), so you build enough knowledge to handle the upcoming upgrades. 

You'll be able to use your solid database (ideally Oracle) and ETL skills, along with any basic pre-existent development knowledge (ideally Java) as a foundation on which you'll continue to build new skills.

For the time being, you'll work with a distributed team from US to Europe and India. In your work, you'll align with the vendor in Germany and work with the team in India for proper implementation. 

In the upcoming months, you'll also be able to build a local new team around this project.

This is the kind of project that allows you to show your best,  make decisions, positively contributing to architecture decisions as well as overall development of the backend and data practice.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Develop software components centered around ETL processes and improve the performance of existing ones;

• Take part in software and architectural design activities;

• Lead analysis, development, testing and defect fixing for the assigned stories;

• Design, develop and document Java based software components in accordance with requirements specifications, functional and technical design documents;

• Verify the developed source code via reviews;

• Driver of quality indicators, promote the integration of non-functional testing (security, performance) into continuous integration cycle;

• Work in an Agile format, closely collaborating with a globally distributed team (PO in the US, developers in India, vendor in Germany, etc);

• Build quality into software through extensive and automatic testing - secure at least 80% test coverage on unit testing;

• Great collaboration, team player, driver for mentoring;

• Provide technical direction and guidance to the more junior members of the team (code reviews, peer programming).

The technology stack you'll be using contains, among others: Oracle 12g, UNIX, Windows, Java, Python, SQL/PL/SQL, 

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

• Solid experience with ETL processes and tools;

• Excellent SQL and Oracle RDBMS knowledge;

• Ideally, you have Java Core & Spring &Hibernate knowledge, or any foundation that will allow you to ramp up these skills;

• Experience developing applications in Enterprise environment
