Data Protection Project Manager

Our client is a worldwide leading services and payments organization, supporting employee benefits administration, fleet&mobility solutions and Corporate payment services across 40+ countries. The Group brings together a unique network of 47 million employee users, 830.000 corporate clients and 1.7 million partner merchants.



Three years ago, the company has set up a Technology Hub in Bucharest, consolidating strategy, technology and projects across three key verticals: software development, security, cloud & infrastructure.



Context


The Data Protection Project Manager role is part of the Group Data Protection Team, working with the Group DPO and the network of Data SPOCs in the local subsidiaries to coordinate proper implementation and management of the Group's Data compliance program.  

 


This role best fits those candidates who feel at ease navigating into large corporate environments, finding their way and dealing with complexity and ambiguity that are inherent around large scale transformation programs.



Your main responsibilities will revolve around the following:


  • Assist the DPO in the definition and deployment of the Group data protection compliance program;


  • Develop any collateral or documentation supporting the data compliance program (policies, procedures, guides, trainign materials, etc) and keep them up to date at all times;


  • Collaborate with the IT Project Manager in the team to roll out the data protection objective with an IT dimension; 


  • Participate in the coordination of the network of Data SPOCs in the subsidiairies, in particular by setting up workshops and carrying out regular trainign sessions;


  • Monitor the KPIs that reflect the progress of the subsidiaries in the program. Develop action plans and support the markets to achieve them. 


  • Assist the Group DPO in the data protection governance activities, in particular through the organization and development of materials for the various data protection steering committees;



This role is for you if you have:


  • Solid experience in a formal project management position with a regulatory dimension or an informal one with a strong project coordination component;

 

  • Knowledge of the regulations relating to the protection of personal data (in particular GDPR) and their application - any certification in the data protection field is highly appreciated;


  • Interest in regulatory and technology subjects. Any experience in the field of payments, new technologies or in a regulatory environment would be a plus (but not required);


  • Strong communication skills - articulate presenter, able to adapt to various audiences up to C-level;


  • Autonomy and responsiveness, results oriented, ability to facilitate decision-making in an entrepreneurial dynamic; 


  • Fluent in English;


  • Available for travel to Europe (mainly France).
