We have an opportunity for a DBA who will join the global IT operations team of a top tier fintech (international payments and foreign exchange).

The role's purpose is to help shape the company’s data ecosystem and processes, getting involved in specific projects or complex troubleshooting activities.

You'll work with technologies such as MSSQL Server, SQL, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, MS Azure.

The company is setting up a brand new technical shared services center in Bucharest to run infrastructure, application support and platform management for the group's technical ecosystem, adding to the already existing hubs in the US and UK. 

It is currently completing the migration of the entire infrastructure into Azure cloud, with only a few of on-premise activities remaining.

You'll join the starting team in Romania that is tasked to define and run operational flows, knowledge transfer, documentation and technical activities.

Your main responsibilities will revolve around the following:

• Review platform monitoring, respond to alerts, platform heakth checks, vulnerability management;

• Investigate and collaborate on business critical incidents and perform root cause analysis with the wider IT teams;

• Move supporting data between non-production environments;

• Performance review and tuning on pending, new and production database objects;

• Migate data from existing applications and database environments to new architecture;

• Maintenance and support of the existing index calculation libraries, index simulators and other commercial products;

• Implement and test database objects in non-production environments;

• Assist other developers with SQL questions as needed;

• Support Testing efforts from a database perspective;

• May assist the Database Architect with performing other duties or special projects as required or assigned;

• Act as an IT technical resource for business projects and technical changes, contributing to solution design and support documents as a part of the project rollout and transition to production.

This role is for you if you have:

• Sound experience in MSSQL Server administration, query performance tuning, writing stored procedures, etc.

• Database administration skills for job monitoring, backup/restore, security management;

• Any experience developing ETL processes loading Data Warehouses/Data Marts and DWH design concepts (Star, Snowflake, etc) is nice to have (but not mandatory);

• Good knowledge of Azure;

• Process-driven approach and an ability to implement new processes, or amend existing ones if required;

• Excellent communication skills – ability to engage with, and inspire confidence in, stakeholders through clear and easily understood communications;

• Excellent command of English.

Why you should consider this role?

• The work is hybrid, with 1-2 days per week from the office (located 5 min to Piata Victoriei metro station);

• Program is 8-17 Mon-Fri;

• You'll also be part of a paid rotational on-call (one week per month), but the number of calls is very low (there are already 3 teams covering all timezones 24x7).
