Our client is one of the fastest growing European companies (index Next40/FT120) that has set up a software development team in Bucharest. The Romanian team actively cooperates with the other subsidiaries of the company in France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland.

The company acts in the circular economy sector, giving a second life to high tech devices, in a market that has been growing substantially during the last years. 

Job title: Senior Backend Developer (PHP / Symfony)

Employment: fulltime, employment contract directly with the client. 

Type of work: flexible hybrid model, with 2 days onsite presence to strengthen the team cooperation. Offices are located in downtown Bucharest, being easily reachable by underground.

Technologies: PHP, Symfony, REST APIs, AWS, Docker, some Lambda Serverless (Python). There are also few legacy appplications in Zend and Cake PHP. Frontend is in Vue.js.

Development methodology: Agile - Scrum

Product: a supply chain software platform to support the company's operations.The company works with top European retailers, etailers and mobile operators  - Swisscom, Orange, Bouygues, Amazon, etc - and has a fast growth rhythm.

Your role: 

• Develop business web apps on top of APIs, using Symfony and other modern technologies.

• Work with the Product Owner and  the Country Tech Lead to make best architectural and coding decisions.

• Support the growth of the local team and the establishment of modern development practices.

• Partner with other development teams (mainly in France) for cross-country projects.

  

This job is for you if :

• You have a solid experience in PHP, especially with Symfony framework. Seniority with PHP is of the most importance.

• You have strong development skills and expertise in several projects. 

• You're able to find the right balance between quality of the deliverable and ability to deliver.

• Frontend experience is not required, nevertheless Vue.js experience would be highly appreciated.

• You're fluent in either English or French.
