Our client is a world class leading gaming group that is setting up a new software development and operations hub in Bucharest. The Romanian hub will have technical and delivery responsibility for one of the company's core products.

The Head of Technology will build and run the center, gathering and scaling up a strong team (up to 80 in 6 months) that will deliver best in class solutions in support of the company's vision for product development.

​

This encompasses assessment of current technologies, domain knowledge transfer towards the local team, definition and execution of a mid and long term strategy for technical product development. There is plenty of room for innovation and pioneering, in a field that is driven by technological innovation and strong performance.

As a Head of Technology, your role will be to:

​

• Build the culture - work with the General Manager and the Head of HR to to identify and drive adoption of values and behaviors that will further define the company's culture. Globally, the company is recognized for its care for people and many times awarded as Best place to work.

​

• Manage change -  you will not only lift and shift the current solution, but also transform and improve it to sustain the vision for product growth. This can mean anything from selection of technology, architectures and development methodologies.

​

• Ensure end to end excellence - build systems that are stable, efficient and effective from design through to coding and operations. During ramp up stages, you'll be ready to get directly involved wherever your technical expertise will be needed. 

​

• Create and maintain excellent products - research, identify and implement the most appropriate technologies and methodology to design, build and maintain complex scalable systems that exceed technical and business requirements.

​

• Create an environment of collaboration and alignment - work with the Regional Head of Technology and product management teams on overall product, technology strategy and initiatives.

​​

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

​

• A successful track record working as a leader across multiple teams, ideally in a gaming / live dealer environment.

​

• Versatile and familiar with multiple programming languages and technologies. Any Cloud knowledge is beneficial (particularly AWS). Currently the platform is built in .Net Core & Javascript, captures video streaming and is deployed in AWS.

​

• Experience​ working with low latency video distribution is extremely valuable. 

​

• Demonstrated knowledge of modern software development practices, with proven experience leading and contributing to software architecture and development for both front end and backend systems.

​

• Self starter, you'll get all autonomy you need to build a strong operation in Romania.

​

• Stakeholder management and change management are key ingredients that you're mastering to achieve your goals.

​

• Excellent communicator (English is a must)
