Our client is a double digit growing Ad-Tech that expands its R&D hub with a new senior member. The Data Engineer will join an existing senior development team and contribute to the setup of Big Data technologies, flows and ways of working, thus enhancing the product performance and growth.

The product is a technology platform that innovates in the space of digital advertising - it manages digital campaigns by broadcasting ads into the partner online media portals, via a combination of algorithms, data (contextual and behavioral), reach (volumes) and formats (40 exclusive advertising experiences). 

​

The web platform counts millions of active users (>100M) and big data (>2.5M daily active
pages generating more than 80GB of raw data).

As a Data Engineer, your role will be to:

​

• Take ownership of the jobs, scripts and stored procedures (write, maintain and optimize)

• Advise developers on code optimizations for big datasets manipulation

• Help data scientists with complex situations

• Propose ideas to improve the DBs architecture: replicas, sharding, back-ups

• Recommend and implement emerging database technologies

• Create and manage reports & visualizations

• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors

To thrive in this role, you'll need:​

​

• Relevant experience as a DB admin/engineer/consultant in a data intensive organisation

• Solid understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling

• Proficient in SQL

• Experience with database technologies such as: MS Sql, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis (no need to have worked with all)

• Google BigQuery and BigTable experience is a plus (but not mandatory)

• Python, Unix shell / Powershell are a plus as well

• Mathematical and statistical knowledge
