Senior Back End Engineer | Bucharest

Our partner is a well reputed software development center, part of one of the world’s largest banking groups. The hub is well established in the market – it operates across various programs, delivering technology products which support the banking verticals.

 

From BA to QA and Operations, all roles in the SDLC, as well as various tech stacks are well represented in the company, offering multiple growth opportunities, both laterally and vertically.

 

As a Senior Back end developer, you’ll help develop new web applications or transform existing ones, in a collaborative Scrum of Scrums environment. Depending on your preference and skillset, you'll join one of the two teams for which we're looking to hire senior Java developers:

​

- a greenfield project (in its early days)

- or a more mature project that goes through transformation through a number of enhancements. 

​

Both projects are challenging and will allow you to show your best, positively contributing to architecture decisions as well as overall development of the back-end practice.

​

Your key responsibilities will be to:

​

  • Design, develop and document Java based software components in accordance with requirements specifications, functional and technical design documents.

​

  • Driver of quality indicators, promote the integration of non-functional testing (security, performance) into continuous integration cycle

​

  • Work in an Agile format, closely collaborating with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Dev team, security specialists and other groups to identify technical and functional needs

​

  • Build quality into software through extensive and automatic testing - secure at least 80% test coverage on unit testing (you'll work with QA)

​

  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the more junior members of the team (code reviews, peer programming).

​

  • You'll apply the highest coding standards - clean code, Design Patterns, etc. 

​

  • You'll also be able to contribute architectural ideas that will align to the target architecture model.

​

​

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

​

  • Solid experience with backend programming - Java 8, OOP

​

  • Spring (Boot, Core, Web, Data, Security)

​

  • Web Services: REST.  Knowledge in designing/coding Microservices / Web services with Java, Spring/SpringBoot

​

  • Good knowledge of ORM technologies - JPA2, Hibernate

​

  • Gradle, Maven experience

​

  • Knowledge of TDD and BDD

​

  • Experience developing applications in Enterprise environment

​

Some "nice to have" ingredients (but not mandatory):

 

  • Jenkins

  • Angular 2+ / Angular.JS and JavaScript

  • Integration with / Knowledge of GraphnQL

  • Design Patterns and N-tiers architectures

  • Experience with Continuous delivery

  • Experience with SOA and Web Services

  • Fabric

  • Container deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
